How we shoot 12 videos in 4 hours: planning a batch content shoot

A batch content shoot is a single session where you film lots of social media content in one go. At Little White House, a four-hour studio session produces 12 videos, giving a brand weeks of reels and ad creative to post from.

Most of the brands we work with have plenty of ideas. What they need is time to make them. Batch shooting gives them that. Our studio sessions produce 12 videos in four hours, and almost all of that comes down to planning done before anyone picks up a camera.

Here’s how we run ours at Little White House.

How do you plan a batch content shoot?

Start with every concept you want to shoot and list what each one needs: backdrop, lighting, products, props and people. Then forget the order they’ll be posted in and group them by setup instead.

If three videos need the same backdrop and lighting, we shoot them back to back. If one product appears in four concepts, we capture all of it while it’s styled and lit. Every set change eats into the day, so planning them out keeps the shoot calm and gives us time to get each shot right.

How many videos can you get from one set?

More than you’d think. A new video doesn’t need a new set. A well-styled product table can be the backdrop for a quick how-to reel and a slower, close-up product film, all before lunch.

Small changes do the work. Shift the camera angle, swap a prop or move from a wide shot to a tight one, and the same space looks completely different. Your feed stays consistent and recognisably yours, with plenty of variety.

What extra footage should you capture on a content shoot?

The planned content comes first. Once that’s in the bag, we spend time on the extras: close-ups of texture, hands in shot, pouring, unboxing and small moments behind the scenes.

These clips keep paying back. A ten-second pour can sit under a text overlay one week and become B-roll in a tutorial the next. By the end of the day you’ve got a bank of footage your social media team can pull from long after the studio lights go off.

Can batch content still keep up with trends?

Yes, if you plan for it. A batch shoot gives your content structure, and it works best with space left in the calendar.

We build a base of evergreen content, such as product features and how-tos, and keep gaps in the plan for timely posts. When a sound or format takes off, we’re editing footage we already have rather than booking another shoot. It goes out while people are still talking about it.

Batch content shoots: frequently asked questions

What is a batch content shoot?

A batch content shoot is one planned session where a brand films and photographs lots of social media content at once. Instead of making a post every few days, you capture weeks of reels, photos and ad creative in a single day, then schedule it out.

How long does a batch content shoot take?

At Little White House, we shoot 12 videos in a four-hour session. That pace comes from planning the day around setups rather than posting order. Shoots with more set changes or extra photography can run to a full day.

How far ahead should you batch content?

Four to eight weeks ahead works well for most brands. It keeps your feed consistent and still leaves space for trends and timely posts.

Do you need a studio for batch content?

You don’t need one, but it helps. A studio gives you controlled light and a clean set, which matters for product, food and drink content where detail sells.

Where can I book a content shoot in Bournemouth?
